Workshops & Courses
Get a jump start on your job search by attending one of our helpful workshops!
Participating in an employment workshop is a great way to better prepare yourself for the workplace. We offer several workshops that are designed to help you get your foot in the door, or advance your career.
We deliver these workshops in a group setting, on-line and/or one-on-one at our office.

Resumés & Cover Letters
This workshop offers tips on what kind of resumés capture the attention of the employers, what information is necessary for a professional cover letter, how to transfer your pre-existing skill sets, how to market yourself in print and how to prepare a resumé with little paid work experience. This workshop provides both general overview of resumé and cover letter writing, while tailoring itself to each participant’s resumé an cover letter writing needs.
Career Exploration & Labour
This workshop will help you to discover careers that suit your abilities and personality with an online assessment. From the results, you will be able to explore careers in the areas that match the person you are. The second portion of the workshop will give you information on the local market, updates on the local economy and labour force while providing you with tips on recognizing which industries are booming and where to start if you’re thinking about changing career paths.
Our job maintenance workshop will give you tips on what to expect the first few days on the job, the importance of workplace safety, how to keep your job and stay employable in a tough economy, how to improve in the workplace and build your skills, how to handle conflict in the workplace, assertive communication and ways to stand out as a start employee so your boss will take notice and (more importantly) you will get the most of your job.
Worker Health & Safety
Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training introduces workers to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. It focuses on the health and safety rights and responsibilities of workers, supervisors and employers. It also serves as a general introduction to workplace health and safety. Workers can use this free training program as one way to meet the minimum training required by the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training regulation.
