BETTER JOBS ONTARIO

APPRENTICESHIP

The Partners for Employment Centre is pleased to be a Better Jobs Ontario Assessment Centre. We help laid-off workers who are interested in re-training opportunities to complete their application and develop a return to work action plan that supports their career goals. The Better Jobs Ontario program has proven to be very popular and provides an excellent opportunity for qualified displaced workers to pursue training for a new career.

This program assists unemployed individuals who have been laid off with accessing post-secondary training for a new career with a financial aid up to $28,000 to cover the cost of tuition, books and living expenses.

Better Jobs Ontario provides help to laid-off workers in need who will benefit most from training to find work. Several factors are considered when figuring out who will receive funding.

We will help applicants based on their:

  • Active job search

  • Length of unemployment

  • Education background

  • Work history

  • Labour market prospects

  • Training request

  • Experience and occupational skills

Come in and talk to our Employment Assistance Officer to find out if Better Jobs Ontario is a good fit for you. Call (705) 372-1070.

This Employment Ontario program is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario and through the Canada-Ontario Job Fund Agreement.
